Two members of our leadership team aren’t just veterans of the telecom industry — they’re also proud veterans of the U.S. Army who are sharing how their military backgrounds remain relevant to them today.
Pete Empie and Dan Enright were interviewed for the Spotlight on Military Veterans in the Digital Infrastructure Industry video series hosted by JSA TV. In the series, they share how their military experience influenced their approach to working in the digital infrastructure sector and their thoughts on the role veterans and military personnel can play in shaping the future of the industry.
Pete, Co-Founder, Chief Strategy Officer and President of Light Source Communications (LSC), shares in the interview how he got the foundation he needed to work in telecommunications from his time in the military, where he served as a microwave specialist. A retired U.S. Army Corporal, Pete says he wouldn’t have made it to this point in his career without the start he got in the armed forces.
A retired U.S. Army Captain and Chief Operating Officer of LSC, Dan attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, followed by active duty service. While at the academy, he played football for four years, including as team captain his senior year, and wrestled for one year. In his interview, Dan says he took four major pillars from military experience that he has applied throughout his 37-year civilian telecommunications career: planning, execution, results production, and no excuses.
Thank you, Pete and Dan, for sharing your experiences and for your great service to not only LSC, but our country!
